The Two Marys

The Two Marys

Halloween, he brought his mistress to the party
dressed as Mary Magdalene, his wife as the Virgin.
He himself drug a cross as any man involved
in such a situation might. He didn't believe in God
or miracles and yet here he was with two beautiful
women vying for his attention. Nobody knew
whether to laugh or be appalled. So somebody
made a toast to having enough for everybody,
casting your bread upon the water. Like the fishes
and the bread, there's always enough to feed everyone.

My Dearest Michelle
Such a lovely post and view as always. Humorous and vigorous. It is a good time for us in Detroit to be sure betwixt the Red Wings and the Pistons and the most salubrious weather. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams dear girl and a most hearty and heartfelt Bravo!

"Beatnik" actually started out as the "beatific" homeless people I ran into around Columbia my first year when I was on a football scholarship. They didn't have enough loaves and fishes.--Jack Kerouac

I'm surprised he got through the night without being crucified. Some messiahs just have what it takes.
