A Christmas Gift To You

Christmas can be a tough time of year -- obviously! I'm typing this with one of those godawful Gap ads in the background that makes me feel mildly crazy. But in the good spirit, I'm asking you guys to list favorite movies/songs/traditions. I'll be back tonight with a longer post!

For me -- Bad Santa, The Peanuts Christmas special, and Phil Spector's A Christmas Gift To You.

Michelle's Spell of the Day
"I sing the songs people need to hear." Etta James

Cocktail Hour
Working on a drink video this week, plus another look at the scar -- Tim is right, it's time!

Benedictions and Maledictions
Happy Wednesday! Will be up with the virtual counselling center soon -- the email for the questions is michellespells@gmail.com. Send away and yes, Mark, you can always run a tab!

Being Jewish, the Christmas traditions are meager but include:

Going to my (Catholic) in-law's house and listing to them drone on about politics (hint: My mother-in-law never misses Bill O'Reilly)

Watching Scrooge (1951)

Explaining to my kids that Santa is a goyim marketing trick by the Coca-cola company but to keep their mouths shut about it because we don't want to ruin it for the true believers.

I am assuming you are asking not what my favorite song, tradition, movies, in general are but rather what are my favorite Christmas traditions?

I have only one favorite Christmas tradition--generally ignore it as much as possible, shop by check book when necessary, and pretty much wish for Easter so I can repost 21st Century Jesus.

My favorite Christmas song is "Duhn" by Ravi Shankur because there are no lyrics and the music is generally speaking great.

My favorite Christmas Movie is "Wall Street" with Micheal Douglas and Charlie Sheen.

Ok I guess I'm one of those kind of saps who, even though I get fed up with the commercialism, still can enjoy some of the traditions which go along with the season.
Movies: A Christmas Story, even though I've seen it 1.6 billion times, and Christmas Vacation
Song: This is tougher, but probably Last Christmas is my favorite. Close behind is The Angel Gabriel by Sting, and The Marvelous Toy.
Tradition: Eating cookies and candy and getting a Santa-sized gut

You can't fool me. Oral Roberts is dead! Unless he has already risen again! Has it been three days already? Where's the body?
