Temptation

In lieu of a post since I'm working on something new that isn't ready to be seen by anyone, I'm going to list a few favorite things --

Friday the 13th (we have one this week and again in March)
Diary Of A Mad Housewife (don't ask)
Ben and Jerry's Creme Brulee flavored ice-cream (it is heaven, really, kind of like heroin or other opiates but without that strung-out feeling after)
taking communion
watching "Celebrity Rehab" and now "Sober House"
buying clothes
champagne
Detroit proper
snow
Dorothy Allison (now there's a writer who doesn't mince words, no sir)
seeing Valentine decorations come down at the end of this week

Michelle's Spell of the Day
"Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: You don't give up." Anne Lamott

Cocktail Hour
Drinking suggestion: Again, any suggestions for the end of the week video?

Benedictions and Maledictions
Happy Wednesday! Thanks again for all kind support about the surgery and recovery. I'm still catching up, but feeling much better and even working on an essay about the whole ordeal called "The Washout."

I was born on a Fri. the 13th, actually. My friends say it explains a lot. <:\
Going to have to try that ice cream. I likes me some ice cream!
I like mimosas, too; champagne + OJ. Mmmmmmmmm.

The Washout. Now that does sound interesting. Let it all hang out, as they say, baby.--Scatman Crothers

Michelle,

I like how you said 'Detroit proper'...I knew a lot of people in school that said they were from Detroit but were actually from places like Farmington Hills or the like.

That ice cream sounds good...I try to stay away from lots of sugar(hypoglycemia), but I do love ice cream. I'm not experienced in the ways of champagne, but perhaps you could offer some guidance?

I probably don't need to say it, but...nice pic. :)

My favorite things are a lot different. Oh, there's one of them now, at the top of the comment page.

So the question is: Have you already tasted the fruit, or is Satan still trying to convince you?

Two songs come to mind. One is "The First Taste" by Fiona Apple, the scond is Coltrane's version of "My Favorite Things".

I like Friday the 13th as well, not in a morbid sort of way. I like to think I defy the odds. I just checked a 1965 calender,I was born on a Saturday.
It seems like I am always a day late.
Drop me a line, we are back from Mexico. I wonder, did you try any of the restuarants I told you about ?

Really you should indulge yourself,go to an all inclusive resort with a beach and eat and drink what ever suits your fancy. God only knows, you have been through Hell these last few months. Indulge in guilty pleasure because you can. Just take extra fuse's for your laptop.

As a Catholic, it's good to see you have Holy Communion listed. Belief in Transubstantiation is one of the greatest pillars of our faith. You've marvelously grown out of the "Is he dead yet?" infancy of your Christian faith. May God bless you my child. And a Happy Valentine's Day to you in advance.--Archbishop Adam Midol, Cardinal of Detroit(Ret.)
