Conscious Sedation

Stockholm Syndrome

At the pool I overheard someone say,
I think conscious sedation means you
know what's happening to you but you
can't feel any of it. I took it as a life and
true to my mother's warning, my face
froze with the expression, and I couldn't
change it, a captive to that awful numbness.

I wish someone who loved me
would kidnap me, a little girl I knew
once said. She begged me to take
her hostage which meant I held her
as she struggled to get free, but not
really. The game, it seemed, could
last a long time without any rescue.

Fun place to go if you want everyone to see the grease stains on your jeans on weekend nights.

To have a Captor, to brainwash us into believeing their cause is just and righteous, I guess Patie Hurst got away with it.

I guess we are all capable of someones elses Spell, As long as it is a message we want to hear.

You pick some very tuff subjects, you have got to be one hell of a teacher with a creative mind like yours.

I don't know who sang it, but I remember the words, "Free your mind and the rest will follow".

Sooner or later I suspect one of your posts is going to trigger something long repressed. Fortunately this is what I've been working toward my whole life, anyway. <:\

Dearest Michelle
Beautiful view and post as always and as always humorous and vigorous. Have you perchance seen the new budget price summer menu for Tom's Osyter Bar? Perhaps even one of your teacher friends could afford it in these times that try men's souls. We must also not forget especially in these time to give to our favorite charity in my case the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams my dear Catholic poster girl and to you a true Bravo!

Hey John,

Are you wasted?

At times it is best to refuse the anesthetic so you can drive yourself home. Better to be numb and in control of the vehicle than let another less competent one drive.

At some point in our lives, we would all like to be kidnapped; it's the most logical "nonchoice" we have to escape the daily grind of our own misery.
