Saints Of The Lower Depths

Saints Of The Lower Depths

When asked if he had one hour to live,
Miles Davis said that he'd strangle
a white man very, very slowly. I sit
alone in a hotel room in Dallas,
Independence Day, 2008, explosions
of color outside, all those fireworks.
But I can't hear anything except Miles
playing My Funny Valentine. He said
he never got the song for years until
one day he understood what it meant.
I could tell the night my name, but who
would care. The darkness already knows me.

I should've figured Miles Davis was a racist. What a shame.

Hey Miss M,
Your sisterly resemblance to Beth, as well as your sweet and gentle nature shine brightly in this photo.
Miss you!

I wanted to strangle White. I hate irony. Thank God I wasn't sentenced to community service.--Kwame

Hey Michelle,
I'd rather know where a man is coming from than to have him sitting in silence.

At least he was honest.

I hope the fireworks were pretty. xo

In the case of Miles Davis I see his mouth was a two edged sword.

Ive got to go with Laura on this one.

True honesty in these times,is a rare thing.

I guess I keep a lot of the past around, the only difference is I don't care how things were then. As much as I care about how they are now. When one sets in silence you can never trust them.
