A Total Disaster

Fun Friday question in lieu of hard won thought out blog post -- If you could time travel to anywhere in any particular time, where would you go? The answer for me is easy -- 1970s New York City. As a child, I read a book about becoming a professional dancer (as if someone who runs into walls had any hope) and I loved the section on NYC, saying it was scary and a total disaster and if, of course, if you could make it there, you could make it anywhere. That New York doesn't exist anymore so that's where I would go.

'70s NYC? I lived in the area then. You know that was a very rough time, crime-wise? NYC wasn't a nice place in the '70s, at all, but to each their own!
I'd go back to pre-Roman, Iron Age Wales (which wasn't "Wales" back then, of course, but that area, anyway.) I've always been fascinated w/that time & place...since I was knee-high to a grasshopper.

About 1974, so I could tell the 14 year old me some secrets.

I've been collecting questions to ask writers whom I feature on my blog--and I was thinking of adding just this very one! But I want to know specifically what moment they'd like to revisit in their lives.

Your answer reminds me of a funny little book I owned as a pre-teen called PEGGY DOES BROADWAY. Sounds like a porno flick, huh? But the cover had a brunette w/ a 1950s pony tail and pink lipstick and...oh, okay, it still sounds like a porno movie, but it was very innocent. And of course she was a success but gave it up and got married because she fell in love.

In my life, there's a particular wedding day that I would have changed--but I won't say which one. xo

I'm going straight into the future. I want to know how I/We/It all turn out.

If I had to go to the past? I'd go some place and some time where the rivers were clean and the brown man was free.

Apparently nothing can be done to change history or I would like to be a stone skipped along the pond of the past to certain critical junctures in time. Starve the wolf so she eats Remus and Romulus, advise Isabella to save her jewels for a couple of examples.

Personally I'd stay right here but I would like to send a few other people time traveling.
