We Have Always Lived In The Castle

To start the wonderfully wicked month of October, I'll list some of my favorite horror movies. Anyone truly interested in horror should visit Scott's fantastic Blog of the Beast for the obscure must-see movies. My list is fairly pedestrian, but here's a start --

Carrie -- a shower scene and Tuesday Weld all in the same movie -- genius!

The Exorcist -- I do love a soul-searching priest . . .

Play Misty For Me -- alas, so many relationships are just like this -- Clint got it right before anyone else.

Blair Witch Project -- This spooked me. Camping is truly truly awful.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre -- seeing this in a trailer when I was 14 really put me over the edge.

More to follow . . .

Cocktail Hour
Cocktail du jour -- I'm going to make a zombie this weekend, a potent concoction that I will video and share on the blog. There's a reason a lot of menus limit their customers to two of these bad boys.

Benedictions and Maledictions
Happy Tuesday!

I'm ok with all these except Blair witch. I can't get the image of the woman dripping mucos out of my mind.

I'm with you on those choices. The Exorcist really scared me, not on a "what's lurking in the dark" level, but more of a "what if I unknowingly marry Linda Blair and have to get a priest to get her to quit doing that backward-crab- walk-down-the-stairs thing that really freaks me out" kind of scared. Also, and I'm ashamed to admit this, I thought Blair Witch Project was real for a long time after I saw the movie. Woulda been really cool if it was though.

Michelle,

That was a pretty good list, Darlin'! The only one I didn't personally like was Blair Witch...it had a few good moments, but otherwise it didn't do it for me. Thanks also for the plug! :)

Hi Sweetie, I abhor scary movies, but love the cocktails. Currently enjoying fresh apple cider with Jack Daniels--an Apple Jack! Great but a poor substitute for the caramel apple I am craving! xo
