Saturday's Child Is Loving And Giving

Writing a bunch of new stuff and will post a lot of it tomorrow and next week. Thanks for the feedback on the essay -- trying to work with some old material and some new to create a delightful confection. Now that Heff's Bar and Grill has been closed to me (waah!), I ask you guys the question -- What do you think of the John Mayer article this month? I read it -- TMI, TMI, TMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of movies, very sad picture of Roger Ebert in the March issue of Esquire. Sans jaw. Cancer. Sad.--Oscar Winner

By the by, what do you suppose the symbolism is of having Leo point his cigar at the name of Roger on the Esquire cover? I don't think Roger will make the cover of Cigar Afficianado anymore. Sad.--H. Gurley Brown

Heard about the Roger Ebert pic--couldn't bear to look. What a brave guy.

Oh, I want to know about Shutter Island! It's the first film in forever that I've wanted to see. Saw Percy Jackson & the Olympians today. Cute, slight. Excellent CGI monsters. Uma Thurman was born to have snakes for hair. xo

The John Mayer Review said: Way too cool for school; A throwback to James Taylor and Jackson Brown; Success really has gone to his head; Playing Playboy for all that's it's worth; Dr. Timothy Leary would be very proud of John Mayer.

When you really sit and listen to the young it seems that Mayer somehow embodies their current underdeveloped philosophy.

Hi Dolly, John Mayer is another example of too much importance being put on a celeb. Just sing, John and shut the hell up. I will never look at Jessica Simpson in the same way!!! xxx and ooo to the Grouchie guy!

To be honest, although I've heard something about a lot of shock regarding the interview or article or whatever, I haven't bothered looking into it. I don't even know who John Meyer is.
