We Capture Your Memories Forever

We Capture Your Memories Forever

Everybody is dead in the picture, even the cat
whose decapitated head pokes out, an accident
of photography. The jack-o-lantern scowls, my
grandparents' cigarettes burn by their sides, so
loathe they were to part for them to pose together.
Nobody smiles. It wasn't like that. I remember
my grandfather, always angry except when he wasn't.
He once said that you have the same shoes to get
glad in that you got mad in which I always consider.
Last night someone tried to kill me in a dream. When
I got the knife away, he said, You'll just use it
on yourself. It's that kind of knife.

Hi Michelle!

As always, your words make me feel and think. Thank you.

And, as always, your pictures are nice to look at. :)

Hope your weekend was good, and your upcoming week is even better!

It's a funny thing- considering mortality. When my kids express fear of death I say "Look around. Everyone you see will be dead a hundred years from now." Cheery thought, eh? ;-)

I really like the line, "it's that kind of knife." Maybe they all are.

Happy birthday to your mom!
Sorry for the recent absence--been insanely busy. Not home much these days, now that it's cool out enough for hiking again.
When my bro & I were going through our deceased mom's photos, there were people we didn't know...I wondered who they were, what their stories were...but now it was too late to ever know.

Not only is the verbiage the photo but it explains the nuances of them in the picture. Dreams though...all dreams can be a knife or an oar.

It is a great photo.

I hate dreams where someone is after me. I can never run fast enough.
It's always a solemn occasion when one of my parents' birthdays comes around ( my mom's is in 5 days actually). I usually end up misty eyed, wishing I had more time with them. I think that's normal though.
Take care Michelle!
