A Few Of My Favorite Things

Thanks for all the great comments on the One Day At A Time post! Interesting topic, always. For a Friday post, I'm going to list a few of my favorite things. Please feel free to chime in with yours!

beautiful notebooks -- all that possibility contained inside a groovy design
cocktail hour -- need I say more?
going to the movies -- excuse to eat fatty popcorn (let's face it, the lowfat microwave stuff is bullshit)
face creams -- okay, these don't do what they say they will, but it's still fun to dream
quoting Bible verses to people who don't expect it from me -- my background as a Bible bowler helps here
postcards -- sending and getting
The Jeffersons -- Norman Lear all the way!
Friday afternoons -- hope yours is a good one . . .

Watching Nancy Grace with my wife.

Helping my daughter with her homework.

Vodka and soda water.
Watching The Biggest Loser while eating pizza.

Listening to the Oldies Channel and hearing a song I loved as a kid that I haven't heard in 40 years (Bobby Goldsboro "Honey," anyone?).

Reading in bed and having my two girls* run in, crawl under my legs screaming "Sanctuary!" (no, they don't know what it means, they just watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame with me a few weeks back).

*my DAUGHTERS, Walking Man, and no cracks about Mackenzie Phillips!

Blogging, blogging, blogging. The blogosphere has brought new life to me.

Shopping the sales at Krogers! Something new every day!

Buying and following the guides to Dan Brown's novels. I'm hooked on symbols.--Herman Northrop Frye

Er, by "stationary items" I think I meant "stationery items"; notebooks, pens, etc., etc. My vasovagal syncope's acting up. <:\

I've enjoyed debating Bible stuff with religious folks at times, especially when they expect me to know nothing about it.

A big glass of sweet tea after work. (With Splenda now that I'm diabetic)

Kicking back in my recliner.

A well-written novel, lately mostly reading science fiction, Jack McDevitt has taken me all over the galaxy.

Finding good new music CDs (Disciple, All That Remains), or old favorites that have been remastered and sound much better (Tears for Fears).

Working with my photos in Photoshop Elements.

Saying something that cracks my wife up.

Our dogs, they add so much to my life.

Michelle,

Some of my fave stuff, off the top of my head:

The blank pages of sketchbooks/notebooks/PC screen- the potential there.

My dog Odin and my cats.

The Night.

Watching movies.

Mead, rum, beer, and wine, for obvious reasons.

Dreams, and trying to figure out what they mean (if anything).

Art.

Music.

The feel of a sword in my hand, or my axe.

Books, comics, and magazines.

Reading your blog. :)

A Bible Bowler. Now, that explains a lot!;) The Matthew quote you had in your last post is one of my very favorites. I could read it every day and still feel like I can't internalize it.

Watching people who are in love.
Watching people who don't know they're being observed.
Beautiful women.
Beautiful men.
Children.
Sushi.
Chocolate.
Being naked.
Greeting cards.
Following my characters.
My garden in fall and late summer.
