Happy Friday the 13th! I can't believe that I've lived long enough to see the original movie circle to a thousand sequels back to a remake of the original. Camp Crystal Lake is where all the excitement is! I spent much of my girlhood watching slasher movies when I wasn't setting things on fire or reading Philip Roth. I hope you're having a great day. I'll be back at you this afternoon with a new drink recipe, the Three Cherry Buddha.

Michelle,
I saw the original Friday the 13th at a drive-in back in the day...in fact, that's in the chapter I'm writing for my book presently.
Hope your Friday the 13th is lucky! Take care!
buddhas come with cherries? who knew? :O lol
I've never even seen the first or any of the sequels. Realizing this has made this a good Friday the 13th.
Portnoy never complained at my lack of cultural identity.
I saw the first and second Friday the 13th movies back to back when I was younger in the last row of a very dark, mostly empty drive-in. Talk about scary!
I couldn't believe the remake either. It doesn't seem like Friday the 13th came out long enough ago to have a remake. Guess that means I'm getting up there.
Friday the 13th. Why ever does that make me think of you??? Doom, gloom and the Tiny Texan! xo
Notice how they're trying to bring back '80s movies--Fri. the 13th, the recent Indiana Jones debacle, the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop (WITH Eddie Murphy, I hear.) Are there really NO original ideas left? Is it just me? I had a feeling I hadn't seen a good movie in years. This recent trend seems to confirm it.
