Michelle's Update

Hi there readers, this is Michelle's friend Marcie. Michelle asked me to post an update for her until she can write more herself, and she also asked me to thank all of you for your kind thoughts and inquiries.

Last week, sweet Michelle thought she had a bad flu but it turned out that she needed to have her appendix taken out stat. It was a very serious procedure but she is now recovering and hopes to be posting again by sometime next week. She will tell you much more at that time.

Please keep Michelle in your thoughts and prayers and thank you for your time.

WOW! I know what you're going through Michelle. While student-teaching last Oct. I thought I had a case of bad food poisoning. I laid in bed for 3 days in agony. Finally, my son dragged me to the hospital and they said my appendix had ruptured, and had to perform emergency surgery. I had peritnitis and was in hospital for 8 days. A word of advice, don't try to push yourself too soon. It actually takes almost a year to completely recover to your 'normal' self. Therefore, getting back in the saddle will take time. Also, don't be too independent. Allow friends and family to help you. I went back too soon and it set back my recovery for a very long time. While you're recovering at home you will find it amazing how your lower abdominal is connected to so many things. i.e. coughing, sneezing laughing, etc. Just take it easy and get lots, and lots of rest. Here ends my lecture. Take care, Phoenix Rising
